SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The shop supervisor is responsible for overseeing their area of responsibility at their respective site. This role will include consistently managing multiple priorities across the entire shop floor. There is also a high level of leadership and guidance required for their direct reports
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Will support and strive for safety in all areas of the site. This includes resolving safety problems that arise and completing the required paperwork to close actions items.
- Actively participate in the department employee’s yearly goal check-ins and annual performance reviews.
- Drive employee engagement by hosting one-on-one discussions with leads and shop floor employees.
- Time and Labor Management
- Review and make corrections daily to labor time reporting.
- Review and approve or deny PTO requests for direct reports.
- Approve bi-weekly time sheets for Payroll.
- Review and correct labor reporting in jobs in ERP system.
- Develop a high level of “in the moment” decisions that affects the shop throughput.
- Sets weekly production objectives and communicates them to shop floor employees.
- Continually supervises direct staff to produce manufactured products, organizes and monitors workflow on the shop floor.
- Accomplishes production results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and reviewing results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing all policies, and procedures.
- Performs new hire interviews, selects, develops training plans, and assists mentoring new employees.
- Maintains workflow by monitoring and upgrading processes, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods, and initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between all departments.
- Completes production plan by adhering to the production schedule and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all equipment, and resources, and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action, when necessary.
- Contributes to a team approach by accomplishing related results, as needed.
- Monitoring production processes to ensure that they are operating safely and efficiently and identifying areas for improvement.
- Coordinating and assigning tasks to production staff and ensuring that all staff members receive appropriate training to perform routine duties effectively.
- Conducting regular equipment and machinery inspections to identify potential issues and coordinating with maintenance staff to make sure repairs and servicing happen as necessary.
- Coordinate and/or verify material requirements.
- Apply root cause analysis and actively participate in the closing of site Corrective Actions (CA’s) and Non-Conformances (NC’s) to ensure our internal and external customers receive the highest quality product.
- Conduct “Toolbox” safety topic discussions weekly with Safety Coordinator.
- Prompt and dependable attendance along with a willingness to work flexible hours including overtime or weekends, as needed.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years welding experience preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience preferred.
- Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
- CNC controls experience preferred
