Job Overview
We’re seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and highly dependable Business Operations Lead to help drive the core operational functions that keep SimpleClosure running smoothly. This role sits at the intersection of HR, finance, IT, and general operations, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and enjoys owning a wide range of responsibilities.
You’ll work cross-functionally with leadership to manage day-to-day business operations, optimize internal systems, and ensure our people, processes, and tools are all aligned for scale.
Key Responsibilities
Manage HR processes including payroll, open enrollment, onboarding, and offboarding
Act as a point of contact for employee questions and policy clarifications
Oversee office operations, vendor management, and general facilities coordination
Support month end close (MEC) activities and budgeting processes in partnership with the finance team
Maintain accurate financial and operational records and ensure proper approvals are in place
Partner with IT and security leads on employee access, hardware setup, and system compliance
Manage IT vendor relationships including renewals, negotiations, and security reviews
Plan and execute company off-sites, retreats, and internal events
Support the CEO and leadership team with ad hoc operational or administrative needs as they arise
Identify process improvements and drive efficiency across operational workflows
Professional Experience & Qualifications
4+ years of experience in Business Operations, People Ops, or a related role at a fast-paced company
Strong organizational and project management skills with excellent attention to detail
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Skilled at managing multiple priorities and working cross-functionally across teams
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
HR and office management experience strongly preferred
Experience managing IT systems, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations a plus
EA experience is a plus but not required
The role will be in person in Santa Monica
What we offer
Compensation: $70,000 - $120,000
