Summary: Develops quality plans from engineering drawings.


Responsibilities & Duties: 

  • Performs process and CMM checks.
  • Work with internal and external customers on activities such as process planning, print and process reviews, tooling, gaging, and quality issues.
  • Evaluate and approve manufacturing processes for new and revised processes.
  • Establishes statistical requirements on production processes and/or products, including SPC and process capability studies.
  • Coordinates and/or performs Gage R&R studies.
  • Compiles appropriate ISIRs and supporting requirements.
  • Specify, quote, and/or design test and inspection equipment required for production.
  • Develop sampling systems (control plans), in process inspection records, inspection procedures, and statistical techniques necessary for production.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement of inspection procedures.
  • Work with Quality Manager on supplier evaluations and internal audits.
  • Coordinates PPAP’s with appropriate departments’ representatives.
  • Understand and utilize inspection techniques used to perform part evaluations.
  • Assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining ISO 9001:2008 processes and procedures.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or three to five years’ related experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T.
  • Operational knowledge of CMM.
