PRODUCT MANAGER - LIGHTING bei JASCO PRODUCTS COMPANY LLC

Description

Jasco is looking for a qualified Product Manager – Lighting who is ambitious, creative, and highly professional to be responsible for all phases of the product life-cycle from conception through development to introduction of new products in Jasco’s lighting categories.

The Product Manager is responsible for competitive analysis, testing products, writing manuals, evaluating new technologies, training our sales force, working with engineers and others to ensure newly developed products are manufactured and designed to the highest quality standard, and collaborating with our marketing group to assist in the development of product packaging and marketing materials.

Specific duties include:

• Performing market research, factory sourcing, product evaluation, initial order placement, and follow-up.  Traveling to Asia a minimum of one to three times per year.
• Communicating as needed with various suppliers.
• Assisting sales force in the presentation and implementation of the plan to Jasco accounts.
• Providing training and technical support to Sales Staff, Representatives, Customer Service, Marketing, Consumer Relations, and Purchasing.
• Ensuring the quality of product testing, lab testing, evaluation/comparison of current, new, and competitors’ products, negotiation of defective products, and hold harmless agreements. 
• Participating in U.S. trade shows and international shows as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing or business with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Product Management or in a related field such as Retail Buyer/Category Management. Experience with residential lighting and the builder trade is preferred.
• Preferred experience includes extensive lighting experience, fixtures or lamps, LED, under cabinet fixtures (UCF), and UL.  
• Experience with new product definition, product launch, product promotion, competitive analysis, and entire product life-cycle management is needed. 
• Effective communication skills to interface internally with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and externally with vendors and manufacturers is key.  Understanding of various international business styles is helpful.
• Must be a strong team player, yet be self-managed and capable of performing at a high professional level with a minimum amount of guidance.
• Candidates must have an understanding of product life cycle, the ability to evaluate markets and negotiate business contracts, and have knowledge of marketing and merchandising concepts such as product pricing, promotion, and positioning. 
• Domestic and International travel is required.
• This position is located in Oklahoma City, OK. No remote option available.
