Job Title: Chief Pilot

Legendary Inc. is looking for an experienced and proficient Chief Pilot to operate our turboprop aircraft based at KDTS in Destin, Florida. Pilot must have a minimum of 4000 total flying hours as Pilot-in-Command, including 3000 hours in multi-engine aircraft, 2000 hours in turboprop aircraft, and 500 hours in a King Air 350 as Pilot-in-Command. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of ProLine 21 and eAPIS systems, customs procedures, and short field takeoff and landing operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre-flight checks, communicate with ground crew, and ensure that the aircraft is safe for flight.
  • Operate the aircraft in a safe, efficient, and professional manner, while adhering to all FAA regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Manage the flight crew when appropriate and ensure that all flight duties are properly assigned and executed.
  • Maintain accurate flight records, including flight plans, flight logbooks, fuel consumption, and maintenance logs.
  • Communicate effectively with air traffic control, ground crew, and passengers to ensure a smooth flight.
  • Arrange for maintenance as needed.
  • Run a cost efficient operation which includes finding the best fuel prices, rental car prices, etc. when flying to other airports.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
  • Maintain the hangar located at Destin Executive Airport and keep it organized and in good working order.

Requirements:

  • Hold a current Type Rating for the BE-300
  • Minimum of 4000 total flying hours as Pilot-in-Command.
  • 3000 hours in multi-engine aircraft as Pilot-in-Command.
  • 2000 hours in turboprop aircraft as Pilot-in-Command.
  • 500 hours in make and model as Pilot-in-Command.
  • Proficiency in ProLine 21 and Aepis systems.
  • Knowledge of customs procedures.
  • Short field takeoff and landing proficiency.
  • CFII/MEI (desired).
  • Logistics experience (desired).
  • KA300/350 maintenance knowledge (desired).
  • Knowledge of various KA300/350 maintenance providers (desired).
  • A&P license (desired).

Other Qualifications 

This position requires some overnight travel and weekend availability.  All flights will be scheduled with as much notice as possible to the pilot.  Most flights will take place in the Southeastern United States and The Bahamas.

Physical Demands 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time frequently; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee will stand; walk and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to lift 5-50 pounds upon occasion.
