The Terrain Park Supervisor will provide a safe and welcoming outdoor experience for our guests by designing, creating and maintaining the terrain park and supervising the terrain park team; as well as assisting with maintaining the year-round beautiful surroundings and scenery.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Effectively supervise staff through respectful communication, clear expectations, relevant training, productive coaching, participating in team meetings, and provide feedback to manager for seasonal performance evaluations
- Delegate work as appropriate, stating clearly objectives and time-line requirements
- Encourage effective teamwork
- Monitor and evaluate employees' successful completion of work. Communicate team performance issues and commendations with manager
- Assist with hiring for department
- Set employee weekly schedules and oversee their time.
- Lead by example, be a positive example for team in action and attitude
- Contribute to the team's success by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as needed
- Design and maintain the terrain park (includes maintenance and repairs of rails and features) while working closely with the snowmaking and grooming team to create the best terrain park experience for our guests.
- Assist with Terrain park grooming operations on the mountain
- Work closely with marketing department to ensure all terrain park events run smoothly and professionally
- Preseason slope and trail maintenance including erosion control, tree trimming, brush clearing
- Coordinate ordering of supplies and parts as needed
- Document and report mechanical and safety issues, complete maintenance logs and checklists
- Assist with snowmaking and snow removal duties throughout the season as needed, day shift snowmaking/filter and hoses
- Operate snowmobiles & ATVs in a safe manner, in accordance with Bear Creek's expectations and training
- Acknowledge all guests and respond promptly to their needs, however busy and whatever time of day
- Ensure nresolved incidents are reported to Manager/Supervisor
- During off season, assist with mountain trail maintenance, grounds work, mountain bike trail maintenance, summer events
- Work collaboratively with others to analyze and improve work processes
- Positive interaction with all levels of management and vendors
- Collaborate with manager to develop and adhere to annual action plan/capital project list
- Maintain knowledge and compliance with departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
- Availability during peak operating times, ie: Weekends, Holidays and Special Events
- Work overnight and often extended shifts, sometimes up to 12 hours
- Availability to work mandatory overtime and on call as needed
- Work as a team member to ensure our guests have the best possible experience
- Understand company's emergency procedures and be able to apply them when necessary
- Report any incidents, property damage or injuries immediately to Manager/Supervisor
- Attend department meetings and training sessions as necessary
- Other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor
