Parkwest Casino is bringing a fresh face to the casino industry. To help aid in the creation of this new casino culture, Parkwest Casino is looking to hire a Security Manager. Our Security Managers hire, manage, train, and coordinate security staff to meet company expectations. A successful Security Manager will possess keen observation skills and understand the basic card room games while demonstrating a high level of customer service to various personality types from multiple cultures. Responsible for all casino security, surveillance, and supervises the security staff.
- Ensure that the security of the casino, and of its' employees and customers, are met in a manner that exemplifies our core values, meets established quality standards, and are in compliance with applicable regulations and requirements.
- Coordinate activities, special posts, patrols and other security/surveillance assignments.
- Respond to all incidents on casino property promptly and professionally. Enforce all State of California, federal laws, and those set by the California Department of Justice Bureau of Gambling Control.
- Regularly meet with General Manager and Gaming Manager to discuss security incidents; as well as proactively plan to prevent future incidents.
- Conduct all investigations of officer misconduct and submit an opinion of discipline.
- Conduct and prepare complete investigations, whether civil or criminal, and prepare replies in connection with official communications. Establish and maintain positive law enforcement relations.
- Patrol the casino checking for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations; assist with mechanical investigations.
- Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergencies, bomb threats, floods, elevator emergencies, and hazardous materials. Provide first aid, including CPR when necessary.
- Hire and manage assigned employees and use resources in a respectful and fiscally responsible manner.
- Specific tasks may include, but are not limited to: managing work schedules; conducting training; monitoring entrances and exits; preventing unapproved or unlawful entry; monitoring casino floor, storage areas and parking lots; directing persons who cause a disturbance to leave the property; any other tasks normally assigned to security officers.
Qualifications:
- At least four years previous experience as a security officer with at least one year experience supervising security officers.
- Must be able to pass mandatory screening including a background and credit check, drug test and psychological test.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a current California gambling establishment employee permit, badge or license.
- Possesses a current CPR/First Aid certificate or can receive this certificate within 1 month of hire.
- Must be able to learn and fully understand the limits of California penal code 832 and how it applies to Security/Surveillance Officers.
- Must be able to meet state/county-licensing requirements for Casino Security Officers as well as any applicable state and county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers.
- Must possess or have the ability to gain a valid California Guard Card.
- Must possess a valid California Driver's license.
- Must possess the audio/visual skills necessary to operate surveillance equipment.
- Must have computer skills adequate to prepare/edit reports and logs.
- Must be able to maintain professional composure in urgent or tense situations.
- Must possess strong conflict resolution skills in dealing with customers and employees.
- Able to work varied shifts and flexible schedules.
- Good organizational and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task effectively.
- Able to command the respect of employees.
Physical and mental requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry tools, supplies, and inventory up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to sit, walk, stand, and bend at neck for 6 or more hours a day.
- Position will require repetitive use of hands for the following actions; simple and power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing & pulling and reaching for entire shift.
- Position may require exposure to excessive noise, exposure to dust, gas, flames, chemicals, exposure to extremes in temperature, humidity or wetness.
- Must be able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation.
