MRF Clinical Support Specialist - North/Mid-Atlantic Region
Job Summary:
According to established policies and procedures, the MR Fusion CSS performs procedures under the direct supervision of the urologist. The CSS will monitor and coordinate schedules of the MRF Specialists in their regions as coverage needs dictate (PTO, sickness, and emergent coverage). They will also schedule and coordinate in-servicing for facilities within their regions as needed.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
- Perform procedures in accordance with all MR Fusion protocols.
- Transports and sets up MR Fusion equipment in OR prior to procedure.
- Assists Urologist in performing MR Fusion procedures.
- Report to facility no later than 60 minutes prior to the start of the procedure.
- Submit complete and legible treatment/billing logs according to UMS’ HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Reviews and maintains inventory of supplies and MR Fusion equipment (when assigned for coverage).
- Responsible for contacting facilities to confirm schedule, number of patient procedures and start times (when assigned for coverage).
- Responsible for contacting each facility and physician in case of equipment failure or emergency. It is the CSS’s responsibility to contact the facility in case of potential cancellation and work with the ROM to try to accommodate the patient procedures.
- Maintains and builds relationships with physician partners, facility representatives and suppliers.
- Responsible for ensuring MRF Techs are maintaining Policies & Procedure Manuals, which includes adding updates and reviewing each manual prior to any inspection including ART QC binder.
- Responsible for ensuring the MRF Techs upkeep of the equipment and supplies to perform procedures in an efficient and aesthetic manner.
- Assist in and ensure proper notification of their ROM and Director of any malfunctioning equipment.
- Clinical Support Specialists will always wear a company name badge when on the premises of a facility.
- Clinical Support Specialists will only assist in procedures under the direct supervision of a urologist.
- Attendance and participation in various local and national medical meetings/conventions/training programs upon request of manager
- Assist with In-Servicing of SPD and OR staff, ensuring UMS and partnership owned equipment is getting the best utilization as possible.
- Assist with onboarding of new MRF Techs. Communicate Vendor Credentialing systems needed to Credentialing Coordinator and follow up with Tech for timely completion. Assist new Techs with ADP/Expensify training.
- Assist with clinical training and scheduling of new MRF Technologists and work directly with Clinical Educator to ensure consistency and efficiency in training.
- Assist in implementation of new MRF accounts including communication liaison with Radiology facility and CAS.
- Assist in coordinating schedules and coverage of MRF Techs (PTO, coverage of sick days, and emergent call coverage).
- Assist in coverage of vacated positions within respective region to limit loss of cases or interruption of service.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience working as an MRF Tech.
- Current BLS/CPR required.
- Urology experience required.
- Prior experience with Artemis/US equipment and Profuse/CAD software for Urology procedures a must.
- Knowledge of sterilization protocols required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
