About the Department

Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to perform inventory control of related department equipment and supplies including special projects as assigned. The position is responsible for vehicle transport, minor vehicle maintenance, special projects as assigned. Performs related work as directed. 
 

Position Duties

Administers the department's equipment inspection and maintenance program to ensure operational readiness.
 
Reviews and assists with preparation of department's facilities budget.
 
Coordinates vehicle maintenance with outside vendors.
 
Maintains and completes necessary daily, weekly and monthly equipment reports.
 
May be assigned special duties as required.

Performs related duties as directed.
                       
Performs minor maintenance duties.
 
Maintains and makes minor repairs to hand operated power tools.
 
Transports vehicles for maintenance.
 
Takes periodic and special inventories as directed.
 

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED; supplemented by minimum  three (3) years experience in inventory control procedures and practices. Must be skilled in the use and care of basic hand and power tools; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Special Requirement
Valid Florida driver's license

Physical Requirements:  Tasks involve the ability to exert extremely heavy physical effort in very heavy work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials in excess of 100 pounds.

Data Conception:  Requires the ability to coordinate, manage, strategize, and or correlate data and/or information. Includes exercise of discretion in determining actual or probable consequences, and in referencing such evaluation to identify and select alternatives.

Motor Coordination:  Requires the ability to coordinate hands and eyes accurately in handling, sorting, and managing paperwork and documentation.

Manual Dexterity:  Requires the ability to utilize a variety of modern office equipment.   Must have minimal levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.

Color Discrimination:  May require the ability to differentiate between colors or shades of color.

Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to apply principles of rational systems, such as motivation, incentive, and leadership.  Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral diagrammatic, or schedule form.  Ability to exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet variations in assigned objectives.
