About the Department
In this role, you will:
- Build relationships with community water supplies throughout Michigan. Assist them with their lead and copper compliance goals, including proper sample location selection, annual sampling requirements, certifications, and public education to reduce lead exposure risk. Work with Federal and State partners toward these common goals.
- Through research and experience, grow as an analyst in the consistent application of the Michigan Lead and Copper Rule (LCR).
- Working as a part of a team, enter data and screen for compliance, develop reference materials, protocols, procedures, and presentations for the implementation of the LCR in Michigan.
- Join a dynamic and cohesive team to assist in the implementation of the Lead and Copper Rule in an effort to improve drinking water quality.
Position Description

The work location of this position will be the Deborah A. Stabenow Building in Lansing, MI. However, the selected candidatemaybe eligible for a hybrid work schedule (combination of remote and in-person) . Employees approved for schedules that include remote work must complete that work within Michigan.Relocation expenses are not reimbursed. When working remote, employees must use a designated workspace that is safe and professionally appropriate, allows for privacy, minimizes distractions, and includes secure internet access. Details regarding work location and schedule options for this position may be discussed during the interview process.
Position Duties
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in the biological sciences, engineering, physical sciences, resource development, or resource management.
ORPossession of a bachelor's degree in any major with at least 30 semester (45 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: biochemistry, biology, botany, chemistry, crop and soil science, engineering, environmental health, environmental science, forest management, geology, ecology, meteorology, microbiology, physics, remote sensing, resource development, resource management, toxicology, or zoology.
ExperienceEnvironmental Quality Analyst 9
No specific type or amount is required.
Environmental Quality Analyst 10
One year of professional experience equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst 9.
Environmental Quality Analyst P11
Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst including one year equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst 10.
