Title: Campus Store Manager

Pay Range: $75,000 to $80,000 annually based on experience

Reports To: Advancement and Business Office

Job Status/Work Year: Full-time, Exempt, year-round; 12-month


‘Iolani School is launching a new campus store within the beautiful Arrillaga Student Center, set to open in late January 2026. Designed to reflect the look, feel, and experience of the nation's top college bookstores, this space will serve as a vibrant hub for students, families, alumni, faculty, staff, and visitors.


The Campus Store Manager will lead the creation and daily operation of this best-in-class retail environment—establishing standards of excellence in service, merchandising, and community engagement. This role requires an entrepreneurial, highly organized, and customer-focused leader with strong experience in retail management systems, POS technology, and sales analytics tools. The Store Manager will oversee all aspects of in-person and online operations, collaborate with school departments to meet campus supply needs, and drive growth through innovative merchandising, marketing, and e-commerce strategies.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Strategic Sales and Growth

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets across in-store and online channels.

  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer feedback using retail and e-commerce software to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

  • Partner with senior leadership to create efficiencies in merchandise ordering, procurement, and distribution for school programs and departments.

  • Ensure brand alignment and marketing integration in all merchandise selections to strengthen school spirit, brand recognition, and donor stewardship.

  • Identify new retail opportunities and collaborate with leadership to expand the store’s reach both on campus and online.


Retail Operations and Merchandising

  • Oversee all aspects of store operations, including ordering, receiving, inventory management, and stock replenishment.
  • Manage e-commerce platforms—handling product uploads, promotions, order fulfillment, and customer communications.
  • Utilize retail management software and POS systems for transactions, reporting, and financial analysis to ensure accuracy and accountability.
  • Optimize visual merchandising in-store and online to enhance customer experience and align with ‘Iolani School's brand identity.
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery and quality of merchandise at competitive pricing.
  • Partner with departments to order and maintain supplies for students, alumni, academic programs, and school events.

Customer Experience and Team Leadership

  • Serve as a prominent brand ambassador for ‘Iolani School, ensuring every customer enjoys a warm, seamless, and elevated experience both in-store and online.
  • Oversee order fulfillment operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and service excellence.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise staff and student workers, fostering a culture of teamwork, service, and school pride.
  • Model professionalism and uphold ‘Iolani's values in all interactions with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Retail Management, Marketing, or related field preferred.

  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in retail or bookstore management, with demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales goals.

  • Experience and proficiency with retail management software, POS systems, inventory control tools, and e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Lightspeed, Square, or similar).

  • Strong understanding of retail operations, merchandising, buying and customer engagement strategies.

  • Experience with online sales, digital marketing, and fulfillment logistics.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments.

  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and fostering school pride through a dynamic retail experience.

Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

  • Full mobility for walking, bending, reaching, and accessing overhead shelves.

  • Full range of vision and hearing, with or without correction.

  • Must successfully pass fingerprinting, background checks, and TB clearance, due to working in proximity to children.
