What will your job look like?
The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational excellence of the Sabino Canyon Crawler. This role oversees all aspects of the organization, including staff management, vehicle operations, customer experience, maintenance, safety, budgeting, and community engagement. The GM ensures the Crawler delivers a safe, educational, and environmentally responsible experience for all visitors.

What you’ll do:
Provide leadership and direction to all departments including operations, maintenance, customer service, and administration
Develop and implement strategic plans to meet organizational goals and enhance visitor experience
Oversee hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of staff
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
Manage budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation
Collaborate with local agencies, park authorities, and community partners
Monitor vehicle performance, maintenance schedules, and operational efficiency
Lead initiatives for sustainability, trail stewardship, and educational programming
Respond to emergencies and resolve escalated customer service issues
Represent the organization in public forums and media as needed
Maintain a “Safety First” attitude with client and personnel
Upholds Forest Service rules and regulations
Educates visitors on drone usage, biking hours, and parking fees
What you’ll need:
Experience, Education & Certifications:
High school diploma or G.E.D
Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in operations, transportation, tourism, or park management
Experience managing cross-functional teams and working with public agencies or nonprofit organizations is highly desirable
Familiarity with electric vehicle systems and sustainable transportation is a plus
Experience monitoring the delivery of contractual services
Must possess a valid current driver’s license
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills
Knowledge of electric vehicle operations and maintenance (preferred)
Experience in tourism, transportation, or park operations
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Financial acumen and experience with budgeting and reporting
Familiarity with environmental stewardship and public land use policies
Ability to build partnerships and foster community engagement
Knowledge of ADA, DOT, FTA regulations
Ability to establish key processes and procedures
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
