Summary
All Native Group is looking for a Communications Security (COMSEC) Instructor to provide instructional and hands-on training to IT and administrative professionals on how to operate and maintain IT systems that provide Communication Security (COMSEC) in support of U.S. national security. The successful candidate will manage, administer, develop, deliver, and support IT systems for classrooms within Foreign Service Institute School of Applied Information Technology in support of IT training. Must possess a Top-Secret Clearance.

 

Essential Functions

Advanced COMSEC training/Instruction for IT Professionals.
Develop course curriculum for current and future COMSEC courses.
Plan, develop, and maintain COMSEC equipment and systems for use in SAIT classrooms.
Ensure reports of attendance are completed by students, class evaluations/surveys and other class completed and collected at the end of each course.
Review proposed training plans to ensure compliance with US Government regulations
and for completeness and accuracy of information.
Respond to data requests from FTE Supervisor in support of the annual budget process.
May be requested and required to participate in Proposal Support functions due to expertise

Experience with cryptographic devices preferred; (KG175D especially preferred)
Proficient in the latest remote work tools such as, Teams, Zoom, Google and Office365.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment within the continental US with occasional travel to overseas offices. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

 
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Evening and weekend hours are worked, as required by the customer’s business need.

 

Travel

Limited travel (between 1/4 to 1/3 of each year) is required for this position.

 

Experience

(3) years of relevant administrative experience.
 

Education

Minimum high school diploma, an Associate Degree is preferred
 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Teach courses as assigned. Also be responsible for the classroom, which includes, but may not be limited to: setting up computers, labs, and instruction material; setting up online/virtual classroom environments, to include the set-up of virtual labs and providing online access codes to students; communicating with students in advance of class, administering quizzes and surveys, keeping attendance, and submitting rosters; preparing student evaluations to include performance and learning deficiencies; and conducting student counseling and recommending corrective action to ensure acceptable student performance.

Exercise excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both oral and written, and be able to present state of the art training concepts and methodologies using Department of State delivery technology to students within the Department and other government agencies.
Perform special projects as required, to include, but not limited to, attending special seminars and State-specific training, to gather information for exercise and curriculum development and presentations.
Consult with customers, analyze requirements, and develop, revise, and/or adapt instruction materials to meet the functional needs of Department of State employees.
Update curricula and courseware for courses as required to meet industry and Department of State standards.
Design and participate in workshops, seminars, and review sessions in person and/or online.
If required, serve as the lead instructor, or assist in the development and revision of industry standard training. This may involve, among other issues, choosing the most appropriate COTS course material.
Design online and classroom seminars and workshops to meet the needs of specialized users as needed.
Provide one-on-one tutoring and review sessions for students from time-to-time to augment classroom and online training, to include responding to student questions submitted after classes have concluded.
Must be able to travel to domestic and overseas locations to conduct training.
If required, must work with other instructors to physically install/configure new equipment for the classroom and/or virtual training environment, including the replacement of failed electronics that provide the training platforms for students.
