Director of Clinical Services
The Director of Clinical Services is a registered professional nurse who ensure quality of patient care in the home. Primary function is for the overall administration of the clinical departments and monitoring of appropriate staffing and productivity for the Assigned Agency. Coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team, patient/family and referring Agency.
Essential Functions:
- Promote /exemplify Company mission, vision and values at all times.
- Direct and coordinate clinical departments and branches; assumes responsibility for continuity, quality, and safety of services delivered in compliance with State and federal regulations. (Conditions of Participation)
- Participate in activities relevant to professional services including development of qualifications and assignment of Agency personnel for assigned agencies.
- Supervise and provide direction to subordinates, in an effort to ensure quality, compliance with Plan of Care and assessment and reassessment of patient's needs and continuity of service by appropriate health care personnel. Ensure execution of all job functions and job descriptions for service staff (direct and supervisory). Execute a consistent companywide orientation and staff education program. Assist with the interview process to select and hire quality home health personnel. Identify areas of training needed to further develop any staff member.
- Participate with the Administrator and Chief Executive Officer in the formulation of a business plan, i.e., Strategic Goals, resource allocation plan(s), and a yearly budget.
- Assure productivity requirements of full-time, specific package and contract staff.
- Assist Administrator with planning activities to develop administrative and clinical policies and practices for the agencies assigned.
- Oversee all QAPI and utilization review activities, including timely initiation of corrective action plans and controls.
9. Promote compliance with all fiscal intermediary and/or other third-party payors, through education, coaching, and other assistance as necessary.
10. Monitor systems and identify problem areas to Administrator both verbally, electronically, and through written reports.
11. Meet mandatory continuing education requirements of the Agency/licensing board.
12.Promote and educate regarding the concepts of infection control and universal precautions in coordinating/performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease.
13. Use effective interpersonal relations and communication skills; facilitate the use of these skills by other team members to achieve desirable outcomes. 14. Evaluate the assigned agencies program, services, and field personnel.
15.Assist in the evaluation of community needs and plans programs and services to meet identified needs. Assists in marketing the Organization and fostering community relations.
16.Participate in state and national organizations, meetings, seminars, workshops, and activities relating to health professions and health care services when appropriate.
17.Proactively identify issues impacting patient care and/or office operations and involve operations management/clinical management as indicated.
18.Facilitate implementation of Company initiatives, changes in policy, regulations, process and procedures.
19.Act as a resource to provide support and expertise to the Home Health Clinical Leader.

Requirements
Experience:
- Minimum least 5 years’ experience in home health care operations with progressive responsibilities and number of reports.
Skills:
- Evidence of progressive leadership responsibilities, including fiscal management is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of home health licensure, regulations, and Medicare Conditions of Participation (COP).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with a wide variety of personnel when identifying and resolving sensitive and complex patient or administrative issues.
- Nursing skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
- Demonstrates proven decision-making skills.
- If required to make visits, Hepatitis profile.
- Must read, write and comprehend English.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in health-related field with at
Licensure/Certification:
- License and current registration as a Registered Nurse.
Environmental/Working Conditions:
- Prolonged sitting required.
- Ability to operate office equipment which may include heavy lifting, bending and standing
- If visiting patients, prolonged standing and walking required, with the ability to lift up to 50lbs and move patients.
- Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and courteous manner at all times.
- Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and Agency needs.
- Performs duties in an office environment during Agency operating hours.
- Ability to work flexible schedule.
- Ability to travel locally.
- Some exposure to unpleasant weather.
- Available for PRN emergency call at all times either in person or via telecommunications.
- If required to make patient visits, may work in patients home in various conditions; possible exposure to blood and bodily fluids and infectious diseases.
