The Director of Clean Energy Finance will report to the Director of Strategic Initiatives within the Center for Impact Finance, which is affiliated with the Carsey School of Public Policy at the University of New Hampshire. The Director of Clean Energy Finance will oversee the planning, management and implementation of the clean energy finance activities of the Center for Impact Finance, with a focus on financial solutions for the clean energy transition, climate mitigation and adaptation, and community sustainability and resilience in low-income and underserved communities. The Director of Clean Energy Finance will play a key role in helping CIF meet its core mission of facilitating access to capital for underserved communities and its strategic priorities of conducting rigorous and timely research, training and mentoring the next generation of development finance practitioners and helping to establish a community-focused clean energy lending ecosystem.

The Director of Clean Energy Finance is considered essential staff, because this person is urgently needed to assist the Director of Strategic Initiatives in advancing its strategic goals of conducting clean energy finance research, curriculum development and training of community lenders, and facilitating collaboration across the impact finance and community development field to ensure that the benefits of a transition to a clean energy economy are shared by low-income communities. CIF has recently received multiple philanthropic grants to conduct this work, but without an experienced thought leader in the clean energy finance field, we will face significant challenges meeting the objectives outlined in our grant proposals.
