Caterpillar is seeking a Product Program Specialist in Clayton, NC. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of product quality and customer satisfaction. This global role is responsible for gathering and prioritizing feedback from customers and dealers to identify top product issues, drive improvements, and support strategic decisions. You’ll collaborate closely with industry and rental teams to ensure timely responses to emerging concerns and provide coaching and training, while also owning data and communication processes for Cat products in the rental fleet. Your insights will help shape product development, reduce maintenance costs, and enhance the overall rental experience.

What you can look forward to in this role:

  • Oversee project processes and procedures, ensuring efficient execution and monitoring the productivity and performance of both the project team and overall delivery.
  • Align and support business partners internally with data driven insights into product health and top customer issues
  • Manage all aspects of assigned projects, including setting timelines, allocating responsibilities, tracking progress, and reporting outcomes.
  • Ensure all project materials, deliverables, methodologies, and procedures meet quality standards and align with organizational goals.
  • Prepare and present clear, insightful program-level reports to senior leadership, highlighting key milestones, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:

  • Planning (Tactical & Strategic): Skilled in developing and aligning short-term, tactical, and strategic plans that support wider business objectives. Able to translate departmental goals into actionable plans with clear links to long-term strategy.
  • Analytical Thinking: Proven analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes, interpret complex data, and apply appropriate tools to inform decision-making. Comfortable using digital solutions to streamline processes and prioritize effectively.
  • Flexibility & Adaptability: Confident working in fast-paced, changing environments, with a proactive approach to managing ambiguity. Supports others through change and adapt quickly to new challenges and ways of working.
  • Influencing: Skilled in presenting data-driven insights and engaging stakeholders to shape decisions. Understands organizational dynamics and communicates effectively to influence outcomes.
  • Relationship Management: Builds and maintains positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Experienced in managing expectations, resolving issues collaboratively, and fostering long-term partnerships.

  • Skills demonstrate working directly with dealers, customers, and cross-functional industry teams.
  • Proven capability to train, support, and lead others effectively.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft 365 and other relevant technologies.
  • Understanding of New Product Introduction and Continuous Product Improvement processes

Summary Pay Range:

$126,000.00 - $189,000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
