Position Summary
HASI is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join our accounting team in Annapolis, MD. In this role, you will support the company’s income tax life cycle, including planning, compliance, and advisory functions. The Senior Tax Associate will collaborate closely with both internal teams and external advisors to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient tax compliance and reporting, while also contributing to process improvements and special projects within the tax department.
Salary Range
Expected salary range of $95,000 - $115,000 based on experience and location. Key Responsibilities
Serve as a key member of the accounting team, responsible for the preparation of tax workpapers and review of corporate and partnership tax returns
Preparation of the quarterly and annual tax provision, inclusive of related tax disclosures
Review of investee tax returns and taxable income allocations for the company’s portfolio of equity method investments
Assist in preparing current year estimates of taxable income and long-term taxable income forecasts
Assist in preparing recurrent tax-related projects, including our state nexus study and Section 382 analysis
Conduct tax research and monitor changes in tax laws and regulations impacting the company
Collaborate with various internal departments and external tax advisors to execute key responsibilities and ensure timely tax compliance and reporting
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA or active pursuit of CPA required
At least three years total relevant experience, including tenure at a national public accounting firm and/or corporate tax department of a publicly traded company
Strong knowledge of US corporate and partnership tax compliance is required
Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication abilities
Renewable energy and/or financial services industry experience preferred
Familiarity with ASC 740 – Accounting for Income Taxes (US GAAP), including relevant tax disclosures required in SEC filings preferred.
