About the Department
Oversees and manages the implementation of Program Management activities.
Provides administrative and organizational support for Metro’s Capital Projects, this role ensures consistent reporting, meeting coordination, and project documentation across Metro’s capital portfolio, supporting effective oversight and collaboration among project teams, executive leadership, and external partners.

- Ensures that approved program management office activities are effectively and efficiently implemented in coordination with Metro staff and consultants
- Coordinates external and industry peer review committees involved in advising Metro of the changes needed to improve capacity to deliver projects
- Manages the procurement process for consultant contracts related to program management office activities
- Advises supervisor on status of program management office activities and issues
- Coordinates, integrates, and directs consultants and staff activities
- Develops and implements policies, plans, procedures, and manuals
- Helps staff and consultants to develop and implement program tracking and reporting systems
- Prepares and presents reports and summaries to management and Board of Directors
- Ensures data compatibility with existing statistical reports and summaries
- Provides administrative and technical support to project managers and others
- Identifies and initiates corrective action for problems
- Conducts meetings with staff, consultants, and contract personnel
- Supervises, trains, mentors, and motivates assigned staff
- Communicates and implements safety rules, policies, and procedures in support of the agency's safety vision and goals; and maintains accountability for the safety performance of all assigned employees

Minimum Qualifications
A combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Additional experience, as outlined below, may be substituted for required education on a year-for-year basis. A typical combination includes:
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction, Business, Law, or a related field
Experience
- Six years of relevant experience or three years of relevant supervisory-level experience in program and/or contract management
Certifications/Licenses/Special Requirements
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
