Position: Maintenance Lead-Nights
Location: Elk Grove, IL
Shift: 5:45 PM - 6:15 AM; 12-hour continental shift 3 days one week, 4 days the following, off every other weekend. *overtime may be required
Pay: $49.24 Plus $2/hr shift differential

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand and follow plant safety rules including LOTO and safe machine operation.
- Personal Protective Equipment is to be used where required.
- Maintenance elementary training for new maintenance employees.
- Ensure proper and safe operational conditions of all production and related equipment.
- Performs maintenance tasks personally and delegates to assistants. Oversees and inspects work performed by assistants.
- Maintains accurate records regarding preventative maintenance.
- Conduct preventative maintenance process audit.
- Zero failure projects.
- Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, electronic problems on Extrusion, Press, Lamination, slitters and all supporting equipment.
- Thorough knowledge of blown films machines.
- Programing knowledge of VFD , DC drives and Servo drives.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, specifications and technical data.
- Demonstrate solid knowledge of electrical controls/PLCs including troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems.
- Responsible for maintaining all manufacturing process equipment by performing preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, routine repairs and calibration with minimal down time.
- Perform all duties in a safe, professional and efficient manner.
- Diagnose root cause of problems with production equipment to determine best solution: electrical or mechanical.
- Document parts used, and repairs completed in the CMMS. Assist in maintaining appropriate stock of spare parts and parts room is organized.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Participate in Sonoco’s Performance System (SPS) activities as required – 5Star, Pillar Teams, Audits, Near Misses, etc.
- Regular, consistent attendance and punctuality are required and expected for job performance.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
