Overview
The Cape Cod Collaborative is an educational organization providing a full range of instructional and support services to the students, parents and public school staff of our 19 member districts, whose needs are best addressed through a multi-district effort. Our student services include: alternative education programs for low incident, special needs populations; programs for the multi-handicapped; therapy and services for students requiring specialized support; and a full range of transportation services for both the special needs and general education population. We coordinate collegial sharing opportunities for various professional groups, conduct executive searches and offer a wide range of professional development and training opportunities for the educators and support personnel of our member districts. #WeAreOneCollaborative
Job Discription
We are seeking Paraprofessionals for the STAR program, a Collaborative public day school in Osterville. Experience with students with disabilities and / or behavioral challenges is preferred.
The Cape Cod Collaborative offers a positive team approach for professional growth and development. We are seeking applicants with a willingness to learn and grow in the field of special education. Working in partnership with area colleges and universities, the Collaborative supports a pathway to teacher licensure in moderate or severe special education.
The Collaborative supports students with significant learning challenges by supporting student strengths and building independence.
The STAR Program in Osterville is a special needs setting supporting students kindergarten through age 21 with significant learning, communication, and behavioral challenges.
Performance Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Work with students on academics, social skills, life skills, activities of daily living, and vocational tasks
- Ability to work in a team format
- Ability to physically handle interventions with students and / or lifting, students with significant needs;Ability to work with students with behavioral challenges
- Demonstration of positive communication skills
