What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization at $23.33-$32.00/hourly based on experience and education. The City and County of Denver has announced furlough days, or unpaid days off, for most employees to meet a budget shortfall in 2025. There are two fixed furlough days for all limited (temporary positions with an end date) and unlimited (permanent) employees on August 29th, the Friday before Labor Day, and November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving. If you receive an offer for this position, your annual pay will determine whether you are required to take additional furlough days. Details will be discussed during the offer process for selected candidate(s).
Location & Schedule
In this position you can expect to work on site at Denver International Airport (parking is provided)
Shifts consist of four (4) 10-hour days
The primary shift will be discussed in interview and can be any of the shifts listed below.
Shifts are yearlong commitments and are subject to change based on operational need.
Day Shift: 0500--1530 (5:00 AM--3:30 PM)
Swing Shift: 1430--0100 (2:30 PM--1:00 AM)
Graveyard Shift: 1930--0600 (7:30 PM--6:00 AM
Shifts are not guaranteed and are subject to change
Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If staffing challenges occur, weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees will be required to work extended hours and/or alternative shifts (includes nights, weekends, and holidays)
Participates in mandatory snow removal duties

Denver International Airport’s Facility Maintenance Plumbing team is seeking a talented Maintenance Technician (Plumbing) to work alongside our highly skilled and world-class trades professionals. This team is responsible for all the comfort needs of our airport guests and tenants. Our team works on a wide variety of issues, from day-to-day preventative maintenance to emergency response repair in various environments.
In this position, you can expect to:
Skill in reading, interpreting and applying information from blueprints, written guidelines and standardized work practices to a variety of situations.
Maintains records and prepares reports, which include estimating materials, labor, and equipment costs with supervisor or peers.
Skill in using a variety of snow removal equipment.
Ability to work in a physically demanding position with continuous lifting of objects that can weigh up to 25-50 pounds.
Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
Ability to use technology including email, internet, databases, eMedia, social media and other software.
Ability to pass a background check after the offer to hire has been made.
Participates in snow removal operations.
Plumbing:
Apprentice level knowledge and skill in the Plumbing trade.
Knowledge of facility maintenance to be able to identify, maintain and repair equipment.
Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary safety precautions.
Skill in exercising initiative, judgment and decision making in solving problems.
Skill in diagnosing, maintaining and repairing a variety of equipment, facilities and machinery.

Required Minimum Qualifications
Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
Experience Requirement: One (1) year of experience performing a variety of duties in construction, mechanical, or facility maintenance.
Education/Experience Equivalency: A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements.
License/Certifications: This job requires driving. Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
