TRADESPERSON Tradesperson is under the direct supervision of the Crew Leader. The Tradesperson performs manual work in construction, maintenance and repair of utility infrastructure. EXAMPLES OF WORK TO BE PERFORMED:

| TECHNICIAN Technician works under the direct supervision of the Crew Leader at all times. | SENIOR TECHNICIAN Senior Utility Technician is under the direct supervision of the Crew Leader and/ or Crew Supervisor. The Senior Utility Technician is knowledgeable on all safety requirements, equipment operation, and individual crew members’ abilities. The Senior Utility Technician will have a minimum of three years experience in utility maintenance and possess Class II Wastewater Collection and Class C Water Distribution licenses. The Senior Utility Technician will have a Class A Texas commercial drivers’ license. The Senior Utility Technician shall be capable of directing the work of individual crew members during the absence of the Crew Leader. EXAMPLES OF WORK TO BE PERFORMED:

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:
Using proper safety precautions, ability to work in trenches and confined spaces; indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
- Ability to climb, crawl, kneel, squat, twist, and stoop for extended periods of time while performing normal duties.
- Using proper safety precautions, lift 80 pounds, and pull, push or drag 120 pounds of installation and repair equipment or materials.
The physical activity of this position
- Climbing. Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized.
- Balancing. Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
- Stooping. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
- Kneeling. Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
- Crouching. Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
- Crawling. Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
- Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
- Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time.
- Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
- Pushing. Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
- Pulling. Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
- Lifting. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
- Fingering. Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.

The physical requirements of this position
- Very heavy work. Exerting more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

- The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.

- The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.

- The worker is subject to extreme cold. Temperatures typically below 32° for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.
- The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100° for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.
- The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
- The worker is subject to vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
- The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
