ProMach’s PE Labelers division is seeking a talented Controller for their Cincinnati, OH location to provide hands-on leadership and management in the areas of accounting and financial reporting and to direct the company’s accounting policies, budgetary process, periodic forecasting, and job costing process. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

PE Labelers is seeking an experienced Controller to provide hands-on leadership and management in the areas of accounting and financial reporting and to direct the company’s accounting policies, budgetary process, periodic forecasting and job costing process and to partner with the Vice President/General Manager in guiding the Division.  The position is responsible for accounting functions such as accounts receivable and payable, payroll, cost accounting, internal financial reporting and general ledger. This position reports to the PE Labelers VP and General Manager and will have 2-3 direct reports.

  • Direct the company’s accounting process, budgetary process and job costing process by establishing and maintain fiscal records and internal controls in accordance to ProMach policies.
  • Develop, analyze, and interpret statistical and accounting information to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget goals, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the company.
  • Ensures the accurate completion of all required reports and analyses e.g. month end and year end closings, financial analysis, annual audit, etc.
  • Maintains the company’s system of accounts and keeps and oversees the records on company transactions and assets. Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes external reports as necessary.
  • Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
  • Maintains fixed asset records of the company, prepares capital expenditure requests and justifications, and determines depreciation rates to apply to capitalized items.
  • Interface and act as a financial and systems resource with customer and other departments e.g. manufacturing, sales/marketing, parts, purchasing, engineering, etc., to address problems and improve processes.
  • Educate, teach and provide training and/or resources to each accounting employee, when needed, to maintain the required level of department expertise. Responsible for evaluating the performance of personnel in Accounting.
  • Coordinate with Treasury, Tax, and financial Shared Service organizations to control disbursements, establish and maintain credit terms, collect receivables, and comply with all federal, state, and local tax laws.
  • Provide leadership for maximizing the company’s ERP and other business information systems.
  • Be the “right hand” to the General manager and a strategic partner to the business (assisting with setting goals and initiatives for future growth, drive process improvements, etc.)
  • Develop capital/operating budgets and manning requirements for accounting area. Control expenses within budget constraints.  Develop short- and long-range goals and objectives for the accounting department that effectively support the overall goals and objectives of the company.
  • Support sales with customer credit assessments, interfacing with the treasury group coordinating guarantees and standby letters of credit, etc.
  • Approve bi-weekly payroll
  • Works in coordination with HR to prepare payroll, maintain employee records and support local activities as needed.

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • 8+ years experience in finance and accounting, strong preference for manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in financial analysis
  • Implementation, ERP development, systems reporting in a large, expanded ERP environment such as SAP, JDEdwards, Syteline, etc. Strong computer skills, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Ethical Conduct
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to successfully handle a multi-tasked role
  • Good written and oral communications skills.
  • Analytical skills to synthesize complex or diverse information, collect and research data, use intuition and experience to complement data and design work flows and procedures.
  • Problem Solving skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
