Description

SUMMARY:

Manages all functions of various departmental audits (Cage, Count Room, Slots, Table Games, Marketing/Players Club, Title 31 operations, Food & Beverage operations, and other various enterprises) by performing the following duties, personally or through subordinate supervisors and/or team members. In addition, the Revenue Audit Manager is also required to assist the Executive Director of Accounting and Senior Vice President with monitoring of the approved minimum internal control standards (MICS), tribal internal control standards (TICS) and Title 31 Regulatory reporting to ensure adherence to the established policies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead by example and carry out our Five Star Experience to Guests and all Team Members by fulfilling our Mission Statement, Service Promise and following department service standards.   • Continually coach and support Team Members to ensure they have the skills, tools and resources to successfully complete their jobs, including the delivering of the Five Star Experience expectations.
  • Help coordinate and supervise training, assignments and development of subordinates.
  • Develop, maintain and nurture a positive work environment.
  • Ensure that all revenue earned by the Organization is properly calculated and recorded and sufficient documentation is prepared to support the recorded amounts.
  •  Establish policies and maintain controls of these areas, ensuring that all records are following Company’s MICS and TICS, and in a manner consistent with acceptable accounting and established company practices.
  • Responsible for preparation and account analysis of significant variations to explain and identify trends in all gaming and non-gaming revenue and customer reinvestment expense accounts.
  • Assist Executive Director of Accounting in the development and implementation of goals, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management.
  • Review exception reports for propriety of transactions and unusual occurrences; reports exceptions to the Executive Director of Accounting and Senior Vice President.
  • Maintain audit documents in a manner that allows future access and easy retrieval.
  • Handle all reporting under Title 31 regulations; ensures that all CTR’s are filed accurately and timely, and works with the Executive Director of Accounting on all SAR reporting issues.  Reports any exceptions to Title 31 Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Accounting.
  • Assists the Executive Director of Accounting and Senior Vice President with the monitoring of the MICS for all functions to ensure company-wide compliance; prepares and distributes Audit Exception Reports for non-compliance as required.
  • Establish system controls for new gaming and non-gaming accounting and tracking systems and assist in the development of procedures to improve existing systems.
  • Implements approved departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the budget for the department is monitored and adhered to by implementing effective processes and procedures.
  • Prepare the necessary data for budgets pertaining to areas of responsibility.
  • Keep up to date with new MICS policies for all functions, and reviews audit plans and checklists within Revenue Audit to determine that current tasks and procedures are adequate to maintain control.
  • Keep abreast of competitive changes including industry trends and local competitive set.
  • The position requires effective communication with other departments and management.
  • Prepares, verifies and investigates sensitive financial data, gaming and non-gaming analytics and statistical information.
  • Review of federal tax reporting documents and Title 31 reporting requirements and Audit exception reports.
  • Performs and reviews risk assessments and executes risk-based audits to identify internal control deficiencies or process inefficiencies.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards by reviewing transaction documents and audit paperwork and provide recommendations based on the audit findings.
  • Responsible for maintaining a disciplined environment and implementing practices that promote safety, quality and productivity.
  • Must follow all safety policies and procedures and attend all scheduled safety meetings and training as a condition of employment.
  • Present a positive image of the Tribal organization to its guests and vendors and to assist them as required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to make difficult decisions in a fair and honest manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the departmental goals and objectives.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise directly and indirectly all revenue auditors in the Finance Department. Adhere to the Tribal organization’s policies, procedures and applicable laws.

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities which include but are not limited to: interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (MUST BE DOCUMENTED):

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in Audit, Accounting, Fraud, Risk Compliance or related fields.
  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of the minimum educational requirements indicated above.
  • Knowledge of National Indian Gaming Commission Minimum Internal Controls (MICS) and COSO standards.

CERTIFICATION, LICENSES AND ANY ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must pass periodic random drug screens. 
  • Must be able to pass background suitability investigation.
  • Must obtain a Tribal Gaming License.
  • Must obtain all other applicable certifications and licenses.
  • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within 72 hours of employment.

They may be occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, bend, push, pull, twist, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and/or push, pull up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally required use repetitive movements to complete tasks. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee may be occasionally required to work in low light conditions, and may be exposed to loud noise for extended periods.

  • Multiple locations.
  • Some enterprises are open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week; therefore, you must be flexible to work any and all hours.
  • Must be available for emergency calls 24/7.
  • Must be available to work weekend and holidays.
  • Some enterprises are gaming facilities.
  • Some enterprises are not a smoke-free environment.
  • Surveillance cameras and audio equipment monitor the premises recording activity throughout most of the facilities on 24 hours per day, 7 days per week basis.
