What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $78,337-$107,500. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

The City and County of Denver has announced furlough days, or unpaid days off, for most employees to meet a budget shortfall in 2025. There are two fixed furlough days for all limited (temporary positions with an end date) and unlimited (permanent) employees on August 29th, the Friday before Labor Day, and November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving. If you receive an offer for this position, your annual pay will determine whether you are required to take additional furlough days. Details will be discussed during the offer process for selected candidate(s).

Airport Security is a section of the Airport Operations Division of Denver International Airport and is comprised of two (2) units: Badging & Background Services and Compliance & Enforcement. This Airport Security Manager position is within the Compliance and Enforcement unit, and will:
- Serve as the Construction liaison, providing security and regulatory guidance for construction projects
- Conduct inspections/audits to ensure construction projects comply with TSA regulations and any amendments submitted to TSA
- Responsible for drafting amendments to the Airport Security Program reflecting changes in security measures related to construction projects
- Collaborate with TSA to review and obtain approval for construction projects, including the review, approval, or denial of regulatory access control shutdown requests
- Supervise the Lockshop or potentially other small teams. Provide administrative support, leadership, and strategic guidance, including planning and performance management aligned with departmental goals
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with DEN departments and stakeholders, especially Terminal Operations, Airside Operations, and the Communications Center
- Review construction drawings and conduct site walks to check for security impacts
- Facilitate communication and coordination between relevant DEN departments and construction project managers
- Support Airport Security leadership in maintaining compliance with CFR 1542, TSA Security Directives, and National Amendments
- Cross-train within the Airport Security section, particularly with the Airport Security Manager for audits, to gain a broader understanding of Airport Security and support team members as needed
- Conduct educational outreaches to educate badge holders on security procedures
- Oversee the Registered Traveler program for Airport Security
- Serves as an alternate Airport Security Coordinator, providing 24/7 coverage
- Conduct any other duties as assigned

Denver International Airport is seeking an Airport Security Manager to join our Airport Security team. Required Minimum Qualifications
- Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, Management or a related field.
- Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of experience administering programs for a commercial airport, airline, or military environment.
- Education and Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post- high school education.
- Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
- License/Certification Requirement: This job requires driving. Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
- Successful completion of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Airport Certified Employee (ACE) Security training within (6) months of employment.
- Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
