Driver – Gresham / East County
Ride Connection is looking for a compassionate and reliable individual to join our team as a part-time driver based at our East County office in Gresham.
In this role, you’ll be part of a caring, community-focused team dedicated to helping people stay connected and independent. You’ll provide safe, friendly, and dependable transportation for community members - supporting a variety of Ride Connection programs, including door-to-door service (D2D), group shuttles, and the Hospital Discharge Project, which helps individuals return home safely after medical care.
You’ll regularly assist passengers who use wheelchairs and will need to feel comfortable driving larger vehicles to meet the diverse needs of our riders.

Compensation & Schedule
This is a non-exempt position with an hourly range of $21.84 – $26.43, depending on directly comparable experience.
The anticipated schedule is 32 hours per week, generally between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, depending on schedule and community needs.
You’ll report to our East County office located at 600 NE 8th Street in Gresham, serving routes primarily throughout the Portland and Gresham areas.
What You’ll Do
Safely transport riders to and from their destinations, including medical appointments, community activities, and other services.
Provide transportation as part of door-to-door, group shuttle, and hospital discharge services.
Offer assistance to passengers as they board or exit, including those using mobility devices, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity.
Confidently operate larger passenger vehicles and follow assigned schedules provided by the Program Manager.
Deliver friendly, respectful, and professional service, fostering positive experiences for every rider.
Follow all traffic and safety regulations, exercising care when transporting customers with mobility challenges.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking fuel levels and ensuring the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
Qualifications
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record in a five year look back period
At least five years of driving experience as recorded by the DMV
Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds and safely secure wheelchairs in enclosed spaces
Comfort and willingness to drive large vehicles
Reliable transportation to and from work
Ability to use smartphones and tablets for route and communication tools
Ability to pass a National Criminal Record Check, including fingerprint identification. If a record exists, the nature and severity will be discussed and may not be a barrier to employment.
*This position may be required to perform “Safety Sensitive” duties per Federal Transit Administration (FTA) guidelines. When required the employee assigned to this position must participate and remain in compliance with the FTA Drug and Alcohol testing program, including pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident testing.
