We have a new position available within our dynamic and growing firm for an experienced Real Estate and Municipal Law Clerk in our Barrie location. The ability to conduct complex title reviews and identify title issues in both Land Titles and Land Registry is important to the role. Some knowledge and experience dealing with local municipal governments and their needs would be considered an asset.

 

The ideal candidate will have a Law Clerk Diploma from an accredited institution, at least 3 to 5 years of experience in Real Estate and exposure to Municipal Law subdivision and land development related work.

 

Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Title search work for a municipal law practitioner, supporting all aspects of a municipal law practice and institutional real estate requirements, including preparation and registration of development and subdivision agreements and related conveyances including easements.
  • Performing general administrative support related to all files including opening files, preparation of accounts and client billings, processing payments, calendar maintenance and maintaining an active filing system.
  • Corporate and Business Law experience would be an asset.

 

The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to assist in resolving complex problems as required. Working in-office in a team environment with experienced Law Clerks, Assistants, and Lawyers, you will be responsible for handling work related to corporate matters. A great attitude and an emphasis on client experience is a must. Program-specific IT training will be provided through our in-house IT staff, as required, on an ongoing basis.
