Position Summary:
Our Certified Nursing Assistants play a vital role in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. You will care for patients with diverse and evolving medical needs, supported by a strong interdisciplinary team. As part of the Acute Care team, you will support patients and families through every step of their recovery journey; helping to create a safe, healing environment where exceptional care and teamwork thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate, high-quality care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Assist with daily activities and ensure comfort, safety and dignity.
- Communicate patient needs and observations to the care team.
- Support nursing staff during emergency situations as needed.
- Safely operate and maintain patient care equipment.
- Document care accurately and timely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked unit.
- Contribute to a positive team culture focused on exceptional patient care.
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Nurse Aide on the Connecticut Nurse Aide Registry maintained by the CT Department of Public Health.
- Completion of a state-approved Nurse Aide Training Program (minimum of 100 hours) that includes classroom instruction and clinical experience.
- Successful completion of the CT Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation Exam.
- In Lieu of certification/registration, nursing students currently enrolled in a Connecticut nursing school who have completed 100 hours of theoretical and clinical instruction in the fundamental skills of nursing are qualified. Certificate and registration must be obtained within 120 days of employment.
