Subject: Position Vacancy – Program Associate to support the Bank Street Education Center (the Ed Center) in various portfolios

 

Summary Position: Bank Street Education Center (the Ed Center), a division within Bank Street College of Education (the College) created to support the College’s systems-level, public impact work with school districts, is currently seeking a program associate to support project teams across the Ed Center’s project portfolios.

 

Key relationships: The Program Associate will report to the Project Director and work closely with their project teams.

 

Responsibilities: In collaboration with their supervisor and project teams, the Program Associate will be responsible for the following:  

 

Logistics & Operations:

  • Collaborating with the Project Manager and Project Director to manage the administrative elements of regular meetings with stakeholders, including scheduling, preparing agendas, handouts, Google Slides, and necessary materials, and following up from meetings as needed;
  • Creating, iterating on, and finalizing Google Slides, handouts, agendas, and related materials for professional learning sessions; 
  • Providing in-person and online operations support to professional learning sessions, including managing logistical details and platform guidance in preparation for, during, and after sessions;
  • Supporting in graphic design and technological production, ranging from material design and creation, copy editing, drafting social media posts, video editing, document creation, recording, troubleshooting, etc., upholding the Ed Center brand. 
  • Maintaining internal budget tracking across projects, including managing invoices and reimbursements, liaising with team members and consultants, managing internal budgetary tracking systems, etc.;
  • Supporting in drafting and executing consultant contracts, managing consultant invoices and payments; 
  • Maintaining inventory of supplies and materials in the office and electronically in collaboration with the Operations Manager; 
  • Maintaining functional and supportive organizational systems and processes, including managing the G: Drive, codifying and revising existing and new processes, etc., and
  • Performing related tasks as assigned. 

 

Project Management & Analytics:

  • Supporting the Project Manager in regularly monitoring and updating project plans;
  • Executing on project timelines in support of the overall project (e.g., via calendaring, scheduling, etc.);
  • Identifying and documenting team action items, key decisions, and next steps; 
  • Providing communications updates and support internally for project team coherence;
  • Supporting the creation of newsletters and social media posts, including drafting and revising content, and helping to finalize newsletter content for release;
  • Supporting data collection processes across projects, including performing data entry and maintaining data collection systems; and
  • Performing related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications & Required Skills:

 

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Background in education, nonprofit organizations, and/or secondary education development preferred

 

Experience:

  • Experience working with diverse and/or historically deprioritized student populations
  • Strong communications skills (email, writing, in-person)
  • Strong problem-solving skills, along with the ability to perform independently
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify issues and inconsistencies across tasks and assignments
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Proficiency in Google Suite platform and graphic/video design tools such as Canva
  • Demonstration of learning stance and willingness to learn new or different skills and systems
  • Ability to work both remotely and in an office environment
  • Flexibility in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative
  • Ability to pick up and move up to 30lbs
  • Ability to travel throughout New York and/or New Jersey for in person sessions
  • Ability to travel domestically for in person conferences.

 

Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000
