Summary:

A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co. is a family owned and operated manufacturer who believes, “This Company Runs on People.” This position requires a People First leader that finds success through collaboration and an input-oriented management process. This position is responsible for Quality Assurance activities at the Dickeyville Foundry, including supervision and scheduling of the Quality Assurance Technicians, facilitating quality-related investigations and corrective actions, documentation of foundry quality procedures and work instructions, and maintaining Quality Assurance equipment. Also coordinating changes to patterns and core boxes, tracking quality improvements, and casting trials. It is essential to demonstrate and maintain a Safety-First environment at all times.

 

Responsibilities:

  • It is essential the following duties and responsibilities have a People First approach as “This Company Runs on People:”
  • Quality Assurance Technicians, including scheduling, assignments, software and equipment, and performance reviews
  • Quality related issues and decisions for the foundry, including the disposition of DMRs, RMAs, supplier related issues and recommended equipment and processes
  • Daily production checks, inspections, material analysis, update inspection plans
  • Perform cost estimates and identify cost savings opportunities
  • Coordinate modifications to existing tooling, obtain quotes and process purchase orders
  • Reduction in waste using data analysis from Power BI, Epicor and SPC related tools
  • Identify the need for and develop work instructions and quality related training
  • Third-party audits and visits that may include customers, U.L., and CSA.
  • Promote a culture of safety, respect, and accountability in daily interactions and decision-making.
  • Lead the team with a family-oriented approach, fostering a supportive and respectful environment where everyone feels valued.
  • Support onboarding and mentoring of new team members.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across departments to ensure alignment of quality goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University and three to five years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
