About the Role:

As a Technology Budget Analyst, you’ll play a key role in driving cost efficiency across our technology ecosystem. You’ll partner with technology leaders to evaluate vendors, negotiate renewals, and identify savings opportunities across tools, platforms, and services. The role focuses on optimizing spend, streamlining procurement, and ensuring investments align with strategic and financial goals through smart vendor coordination, finance partnership, and data-driven insights.


Responsibilities: 

  • Lead purchasing and financial oversight across technology and infrastructure, ensuring spend aligns with strategic and financial goals.

  • Collaborate with department leads and vendor management to analyze spend trends, evaluate vendor performance, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Drive procurement and renewal processes, including PR and PO management, ensuring timely approvals and favorable contract terms.

  • Review and benchmark vendors, tools, and services to guide cost-effective purchasing and consolidation decisions.

  • Maintain accurate financial and asset records, leveraging tools such as Venminder and AssetSonar for spend and inventory visibility.

  • Negotiate renewals and supplier terms to improve total cost of ownership and strengthen vendor partnerships.

  • Support financial planning and forecasting, contributing data-driven insights to optimize technology investments.

  • Ensure adherence to procurement and approval policies, maintaining compliance and process consistency.

What Success Looks Like:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a financial management role within a technology company or department.

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Experience with software and hardware products contract renewals.

  • Experience with Excel and Google sheets.

  • Financial experience with budgeting, billing, and procurement processes.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong understanding of budget management, cost analysis, and procurement best practices.

  • Proficiency in ERP and expense management systems (e.g., Nexonia or similar).

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • High attention to detail with strong financial acumen.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Candidate Requirements:

Required Core Competencies (must be demonstrated in your background and interview responses):

  • Communication: Clear writing, active listening, and the ability to explain technical topics in plain terms.

  • Accountability: Track record of delivering quality work, owning outcomes, and learning from setbacks.

  • Willingness to Learn: Demonstrated adaptability with new frameworks, technologies, or methodologies.

  • Team Orientation: Experience working collaboratively in agile environments and contributing to shared goals.

  • Self-Awareness: Openness to feedback, ability to recognize limitations, and willingness to give credit where due.

Preferred Technical Skills (not required to apply):

  • Strong understanding of financial analysis tools such as Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, Power Query) or Google Sheets for spend modeling and forecasting.

  • Familiarity with IT asset and contract management tools like AssetSonar, Venminder, and Jira.

  • Basic understanding of accounting or ERP systems, such as NetSuite and Nexonia.

Compensation and Benefits:


Compensation range:  $73,100 - $83,200
