nbkc bank is currently looking for a Data Engineer to join our IT development team.
The Data Engineer will support the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and solutions that enable nbkc to leverage data for decision-making, reporting, and operational needs. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to build technical skills, gain hands-on experience, and grow within the field of data engineering.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain reliable, scalable, and efficient data pipelines with guidance from senior team members.
- Collect, clean, transform, and load (ETL/ELT) data from multiple sources.
- Assist in developing data models to optimize reporting and analytics.
- Monitor data pipeline performance and assist with issue resolution.
- Identify and troubleshoot data quality issues, working with business and technical teams to implement solutions.
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation for data workflows and processes.
- Support the implementation of data governance standards and compliance best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and apply version control, testing, and deployment best practices.
- Collaborate closely with analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver data solutions that support business goals.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency with SQL and understanding of relational database concepts.
- Basic experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, or Scala).
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms - Azure preferred, AWS or GCP acceptable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
Bonus Points
- Internship, academic project, or professional experience working with ETL tools or data integration processes.
- Familiarity with data warehouse concepts, data lakes, and big data frameworks.
- Knowledge of BI/reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
