Job Summary:

Manages an efficient and profitable service department through productive staffing, customer retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives, and maintenance of all service records. Ensures that the daily inventory of technicians’ time is consistently sold to service customers.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Managing all service staff at the Service Managers respective location.
  • Scheduling of service staff.
  • Train (or oversee training) new service staff on all aspects of their job in the service department.
  • Document training
  • Uphold and enforce RV Value Mart, Inc. polices.
  • Set goals for service staff.
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure that the service staff is providing excellent customer service.
  • Ensure that all customers that need assistance are being assisted.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage Service Department Workflow
  •  Review sold units requiring delivery
  •  Review service units requiring delivery
  •  Review daily appointment schedule
  •  Review RO write-ups
  •  Prioritize ROs
  •  Update ROs
  •  Review closed ROs
  •  Assign jobs to technicians
  •  Verify service approvals have been obtained
  •  Determine parts needed
  •  Oversee work in progress
  • New Unit Check In
  •  Initiate service documentation
  • Provide Customer Service
  •  Provide customer hospitality
  •  Process customer correspondence
  •  Performs follow-ups calls
  •  Survey customer satisfaction
  •  Perform courtesy contacts
  •  Provide emergency assistance referral
  •  Authorize goodwill expenses
  • Generate Service Department Revenue
  •  Market service specials
  •  Determine service options and/or referrals
  •  Manage technician time
  •  Manage trade agreements with insurers
  •  Determine specialized labor rates
  •  Maintain salable condition of stock units
  • Review Administrative Reports
  •  Profit and loss report
  •  Open RO report
  •  Productivity/efficiency report
  •  CSI report
  •  Audit technician time
  •  Review Service Writer performance report
  •  Review warranty reports
  •  Review effective labor rate report
  •  Set service department productivity goals
  • Promote public relations
  •  Maintain facility appearance
  •  Maintain staff’s professional appearance
  •  Maintain relationships with industry organizations
  •  Participate in community activities and events
  •  Maintain online service reputation
  • Perform administration tasks
  •  Perform shop safety inspections
  •  Schedule equipment maintenance
  •  Maintain reference resources
  •   Manage shop expenses
  •  Inventory shop equipment
  •  Propose service department budget
  •  Participate in safety committee
  •  Perform service unit audit
  • Pursue Professional Development
  •  Participate in internal training
  •  Participate in cross training
  •  Obtain professional certifications
  •  Participate in manufacture/vendor training
  •  Participate in industry events
  •  Review professional publications
  •  Network with industry representatives
  • Any other assigned tasks


Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Experience with computers and basic operation
  • Experience with creating and generating reports
  • Currently possess or have the ability to achieve industry standard certifications/licenses if requested or required.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
