The Composites Engineering Intern is a generalist who supports product design, prototype development, new process introduction, and manufacturing using their knowledge of composite materials and processes. This position will develop an end-to-end understanding of composite processes and specialist technologies unique to the composites industry. This position will focus on integrating knowledge and experience from a multi-disciplined team including engineers focused on design, tooling, manufacturing, systems and controls/automation. Continuous improvement and root cause corrective action (RCCA) actions will also be supported.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in the development, testing, and improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment
Support production teams with troubleshooting and process optimization efforts
Collect and analyze data to identify trends, inefficiencies, or opportunities for process improvements
Help implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
Create and update documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and technical reports
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and operations, to support project goals
Present findings, reports, or project updates to engineering and management teams as required
