Position: Electrical Technician 1 Salary Grade: 3
Primary Purpose: Build and repair electrical panels, systems, and components for industrial machinery and equipment following schematics, blueprints, and electrical code, for departments at Burr Oak Tool.

Responsibilities: Quantifiable metrics to which a person is held accountable
- Correctly and with a quality focus wire electrical panels following schematics and blueprints.
- Understand power supply wiring and conduit for machines following manuals, schematics, and blueprints using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
- Accurately and safely connect power supply wires and cables to and between machines and equipment.
- Learn to diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and other electrical components using test equipment, and bring to an effective workable solution.
- Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and circuit boards, rewire motors as needed, and ensure repairs are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Become familiar using meters on low voltage. Diagnose problems and resolve related issues.
· Read blueprints and related schematics and utilize measurement instruments to correctly assemble panels according to specifications.
· Arrive at work and position consistently on time; remain present and engaged the entire assigned shift.
· Able to recognize and document patterns in process and problem solving.
· Participate in regular employee reviews including setting and achieving goals.
Essential qualifications and skills
· High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
· Appropriate written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to remain calm and determined to attain goals.
· Ability to receive forklift license and learn to operate cranes and man-lifts.
· Must have math skills and ability to utilize various measurement tools.
· Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, and flexible.
· High energy level, comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
· Documentation of a current drug screen must be provided prior to start date.
