The Special Operations Team within the CPMO executes high-impact initiatives that require agility, precision, and creative problem-solving. These projects span multiple shared service departments — including HR, Finance, IT, Data Science, Operations, Legal, and Strategic Planning — and directly support our mission to expand access, optimize systems, and improve outcomes for the communities and organizations we serve.

Position Summary

The Project Manager – Special Operations will lead and execute strategic, cross-functional projects that drive organizational growth, operational efficiency, and innovation. Reporting to the Director of CPMO, this role is responsible for end-to-end project delivery — from scoping to execution to performance reporting — using agile and lean methodologies.

Projects may include:

  • Pod and clinic network development
  • System rollouts (Unity ERP, RSA, SIMS)
  • Automation pilots and workflow redesigns
  • Patient engagement and population health platforms
  • Strategic growth and scale initiatives

This role requires strong analytical thinking, stakeholder management, and the ability to balance big-picture vision with operational detail.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Define, scope, and manage Special Operations projects using Agile/Scrum and SPRINT frameworks.
  • Deliver initiatives on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic KPIs and OKRs.
  • Apply IOO (Input, Output, Outcome) logic models and balanced scorecard measures to track project success.
  • Coordinate cross-departmental dependencies and maintain momentum through daily/weekly standups.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with HR, Finance, IT, Operations, and Legal to ensure seamless execution.
  • Facilitate huddles, retrospectives, and Focus Solution (FS) sessions.
  • Use RACI frameworks to clarify accountability and accelerate decision-making.

Strategic Execution

  • Support CPMO leadership in executing organizational growth initiatives and pod expansions.
  • Manage the rollout of enterprise systems and operational automation pilots.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints principles to identify bottlenecks and optimize performance.

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Establish and monitor KPIs/KRIs for project performance.
  • Prepare executive summaries, dashboards, and milestone updates for CPMO leadership.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and post-implementation review.

Special Projects & Innovation

  • Support development of scalable frameworks for new initiatives.
  • Pilot new technologies, workflows, and service models.
  • Contribute to process standardization, documentation, and best-practice sharing across sites.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Operations, or a related field (required).
  • Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, or equivalent) preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of project or program management experience.
  • Proven success leading complex, cross-functional projects from concept to execution.
  • Healthcare, MSO, or multi-site operational experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of Agile, Lean, and Six Sigma practices.

Skills

  • Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and presentation abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (Bitrix, Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).
  • Familiarity with IOO logic models, value proposition design, and Agile charters.
