About the Role:
The Director of Nursing at Trinity River Recovery is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing the nursing department to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based care to patients. This role involves strategic planning, policy development, and operational management to align nursing services with the organization's mission and regulatory standards. The Director will lead a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and patient safety. They will collaborate closely with clinical and administrative leaders to optimize resource utilization and enhance patient outcomes. Ultimately, the Director of Nursing will serve as a key advocate for nursing staff and patients, driving excellence in behavioral health nursing practices across the facility.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Texas.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive nursing experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or management role within behavioral health or a related healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral health nursing practices, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement methodologies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration.
- Certification in Nursing Leadership or Management (e.g., Nurse Executive Certification).
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and healthcare data analytics.
- Familiarity with Joint Commission accreditation standards and behavioral health care regulations.
- Proven track record of successful team building and staff retention strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the nursing staff to maintain high standards of clinical care and professional conduct.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies, procedures, and protocols in compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation requirements.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure integrated patient care and effective communication across departments.
- Oversee staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation to optimize operational efficiency and patient care quality.
- Monitor patient care outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction.
- Ensure ongoing staff education, training, and professional development to maintain clinical competencies and certifications.
- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, hospital administration, and external regulatory bodies.
- Manage incident reporting, risk management, and compliance with safety standards within the nursing department.
