Job Summary:
Liberty Tire Recycling has an immediate opening for a hands-on Industrial Maintenance Mechanic at our Jackson, GA facility. The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining all industrial equipment at the plant site. Extensive belt conveyor experience (i.e., maintaining conveyors, replacing rollers and belts, tracking and aligning belts properly) is a must. Also includes installing/repairing mechanical equipment, fabricating, and welding. This individual must be able to demonstrate proficiency in gearbox rebuilding, equipment alignment, welding, and troubleshooting complex mechanical systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and perform repairs and maintenance on parts of equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic repairs.
- Repair production line equipment, including conveyor belts, and shredding equipment.
- May perform or assist in the installation of machinery and equipment.
- Cutting and welding, including light steel fabrication.
- Performs maintenance duties or other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be self-motivated. Able to work alone or with others as needed.
- Demonstrates continuous improvement and problem-solving skills.
- Minimum 3 years relevant maintenance experience.
- Teachable attitude and ability to learn on the job in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting over surfaces and lifting at least 50 lbs.
- Willing and able to be on call and work any shift schedule, including nights and weekends (overtime available).
- Willing and able to adhere to all safety standards and wear all necessary personal protective equipment.
- Knowledge of quality concepts and methods.
- Safety Oriented – Proficient in Lockout/Tagout
