This position is eligible for a $10,000 Sign On Bonus!!

Operates magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner to obtain filmed images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.  Positions patients of all age groups for procedures, assists in sedations and prepares non‑magnetic contrast media, operates scanner to visualize pathologies.  Select appropriate scanning parameters to optimize images obtained and recorded.

  • Knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles and procedures as acquired through completion of an approved school of radiologic technology.
  • Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology or ARRT.
  • Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.  
  • Current Wisconsin state license as a Registered Radiographer is strongly encouraged.
  • Must pass MRI sub specialty boards within 24 months of hire.
  • Approximately two years or more of radiology related experience preferred to gain familiarity with MRI procedures, techniques and methods as well as hospital policies and procedures.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients and parents who may be under physical and/or emotional stress.
  • Analytical skills necessary to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of magnetic resonance imaging techniques and methods and knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when operating equipment and manipulating and reproducing images.
  • Must be able to walk, stand for long periods as well as lift and position patients weighing up to 150 pounds.
  • Ability to sit for up to 70% of work time.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Provides services in a setting where there is potential for exposure to blood and other high risk body fluids.
  • Requires working in moderately cool area, approximately 70°F, 90% of the time.  Noise level fluctuates in this area.
  • Work requires exposure to magnetic field and radio frequency with little chance of injury when established safety procedures are followed and occasional exposure to patient with possible infectious diseases.
  • Requires that any medically implanted device be MRI compatible.

This is a full time position working 3-12 hour shifts per week - 1000-2230
