As a Field Service & System Specialist, you will provide advisory services to customers and/or third party contractors on existing and/or newly acquired equipment and components.

In this role you will

1. Provide assistance for the installation and commissioning of any equipment and components.

2. Carry out service calls on a preventative and reactive basis as required, undertaking service and repair of products and systems to deliver against customers’ requirements.

3. Keep accurate records regarding job progress, delays, problems, deliveries, changes, extras, and engineering and fabrication errors.

4. Report back on the completed projects outlining the activities carried out, faults found during service and any future recommendations for improving the service offering.

5. Train customer staff in methods to maintain and repair the equipment, to ensure knowledge is transferred.

6. Conduct audits at customer sites to record and analyze process improvement opportunities.

Work complexity and business impact: Works independently to complete given tasks and activities, solving daily basic technical service issues. Job is mainly performed according to defined processes or work methods. Close supervision is provided when needed. Geographical scope: mainly provincial Typical minimum relevant experience required: less than 3 years, represents the typical entry level position.

7. Perform Preventive and Predictive Maintenance of Automation equipment on hardware at the customers' locations, particularly on QCS (Scanner), Profilers, Analyzers, Controls systems and Network components (Hardware-Software).
8 Work with a team of 4 persons and assist other service personnels as needed to resolve difficult service related issues.

9.  Demonstrate and document Value to the customer based on the services you provide
10. Do Field commissioning on Automation equipment. Service and Performance documentation for capital equipment, including new and add on system installations. Implement new and add on systems (hardware and software) when required.
11. Assist customers in problem solving at their worksites and by phone. Clearly understand the customers pulp and paper process and how the automation equipment interacts with the process.
12. Provide sales support for service when needed. Actively sell & promote spare parts, upgrade of components at the customer’s worksite.
13. Ensure that your service manager, solution managers in North America are informed of problems with products.
14.  Coordinate work schedule with other team members.

15. Visit customer on a routine basis to improve and maintain customer relationships.
16 Be on-call 1 week / month and capable of providing after hours emergency service when needed.
17. Travel to other province to support customers when it is necessary or for Training purposes

18. Complete and review JSA before any work is started.

19. Follow mills safety indoctrination and Valmet safety guidelines prior and during site visit.

Expectations

The incumbent must meet one of these requirements:

1)           4+ Years Experience in the field with instrumentation and electromechanics         preferably in a pulp and paper manufacturing environment.

2)           A technical school diploma in instrumentation, electromechanics, or mechatronics.

3)           A University or Collegial Degree in electronics, electro-mechanics,  or instrumentation.

To be successful in this role, you must be electro-mechanically inclined, self-guided, have a strong work ethic, be disciplined and have an excellent attitude toward customer service.

This position requires a valid driver’s license.  The position will be primarily in Saint John, New Brunswick area and will support the Maritimes Region (one customer in Novia Scotia).
