What You’ll Do
As a Registered Nurse, you’ll provide direct nursing services to children and youth in accordance with New York State licensure and agency policies. You’ll be responsible for assessments, medication management, health screenings, and coordination of care across multiple programs. This role is hands-on and collaborative, requiring strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to care.

You’ll work closely with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure the health and well-being of each child. Your work will support both immediate medical needs and long-term wellness, contributing to a safe and therapeutic environment.

 

Qualifications


What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse who is passionate about working with children and families. You bring clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and a trauma-informed approach to care. You’re organized, responsive, and committed to maintaining high standards of practice in a dynamic setting.

 

Qualifications and Preferred Experience

  • Current New York State licensure/registration as a Professional Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 1 year of general nursing experience
  • Experience with children, emotionally disturbed individuals, or in pediatric/mental health nursing preferred
  • Current CPR certification
  • Valid New York State driver’s license

Key Skills and Attributes

  • Confident in setting healthy boundaries and responding to challenging behavior with care and consistency.
  • Skilled at building strong, respectful connections with youth, families, and coworkers.
  • Open to learning and able to complete required trainings like Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, CPR, and First Aid.
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and with strong documentation and clinical record-keeping skills.
  • Brings patience, resilience, and emotional steadiness to the work.
  • Proficient in the Nursing Process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation
  • Knowledge of medications, including purpose, side effects, and contraindications
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care and child development
  •   Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to supervise and support Licensed Practical Nurses
  • Flexibility to assume on-call and supervisory duties as needed
