Maintenance Technician bei Mount Airy City Schools

Location: District-Wide | 12-Month Position | Full-Time
Reports To: Director of Maintenance

Overview:
The Maintenance Technician helps keep our school buildings and grounds safe, functional, and in excellent condition. This position performs a variety of general repairs, preventive maintenance, and emergency response tasks to support a clean, safe, and productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general building repairs (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC support).
  
  
• Inspect facilities and respond promptly to maintenance requests.
  
  
• Assist with preventive maintenance schedules and safety checks.
  
  
• Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles safely.
  
  
• Maintain accurate work records and follow district safety guidelines.
  
  

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED (vocational/technical training preferred).
  
  
• 3+ years’ experience in building maintenance or a skilled trade.
  
  
• Knowledge of building systems and ability to read technical manuals.
  
  
• Valid NC driver’s license; trade certifications preferred.
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Lift/carry up to 50 lbs.; frequent bending, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.
