Job Description
Shift: Day shift with weekend rotation
The Registered Dietitian is responsible for all aspects of the patient’s nutritional care. The Registered Dietitian establishes the nutritional care plan and ensures that nutritional goals are achieved. The Registered Dietitian provides individualized nutrition interventions that result in restoration and maintenance of the patient’s nutritional health and advocates for the patient regarding the appropriateness of therapy. The Registered Dietitian is the nutrition resource and provides education for UPH-Meriter patients, staff, and the community. The Registered Dietitian maintains 75 continuing education units per five year period to retain registration status.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in dietetics or degree that meets the requirements of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Must maintain 75 continuing education units per five year period to retain registration status
- Successfully pass registration exam and obtain State of Wisconsin Certification within 12 months of hire
- Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics approved internship or coordinated undergraduate program or completion of post-graduate program.
- One year experience in clinical setting for entry level practice
- Three or more years’ experience in clinical setting for advanced level practice
