Join UQ’s Property and Facilities Division as a Principal Project Officer, where you’ll lead initiatives that enhance operational excellence and drive meaningful change. You’ll be part of the Asset Performance and Services team, supporting strategic and operational projects that improve documentation, training, and communication across Campus Operations. 

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Develop, maintain, and champion clear and accessible documentation of systems and business processes to support staff understanding and compliance

  • Lead or contribute to the development, review, and implementation of policies, procedures and other strategic documentation for Campus Operations.

  • Create and deliver supporting materials and resources (e.g. guides, training content, quick-reference guides, checklists, slide decks, short screen-capture videos) to help users adopt new or updated systems and workflows

  • Actively contribute to change initiatives by promoting improved processes and ensuring consistency and clarity in documentation across teams

  • Manage administrative and coordination tasks related to strategic initiatives and operational projects

  • Perform business analysis to translate operational needs into actionable requirements and improvements (stakeholder interviews, process mapping, gap analysis, benefits tracking, and UAT coordination).

About You

  • Qualification and training in a business-related area with at least four (4) years relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide high level administrative support and advice, and to contribute to the work of a senior manager within a large and complex organisation.

  • Ability to provide leadership to various task groups, committee, and coordinate teams to meet targets and deadlines.

  • Experience in business analysis and process improvement

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with staff of all levels of the organisation.

  • Excellent organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to set goals, develop priorities, meet deadlines, and to manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Well-developed skills in interpreting policies and procedures and synthesising detailed information into clear, well-structured papers and recommendations.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia.
