Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with HR Manager to develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with the business strategy and objectives of Pence Contractors
- Assist in managing employee relations issues, conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations when necessary
- Assist with establishing HR KPIs
- Continually investigate new benefits programs, improve existing programs, and manage benefits administration.
- Manage compensation surveys.
- Manage the Pence Benefits Program and identify areas of opportunity within current programs and plans. Develops, evaluate, and recommend improvements that support the needs of employees.
- Manages daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident claims, rollovers, distributions, loans, hardships, and compliance testing.
- Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.
- Design and distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions. Provide training and support to group benefits associates, home office associates and the field staff.
- Manage all leave processes for Pence Companies (FMLA, OFLA, PFML)
- Manages all Worker’s Compensation claims and return-to-work program for Pence Companies
- Maintains accurate OSHA logs (300s, 301s and 300As) for Pence Companies
- Handle general employee inquiries.
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in Human Resources
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field is preferred.
- Must be SHRM or HCI certified.
- Working knowledge of all pertinent federal and state laws and regulations.
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude; strong proficiency in Excel and experience with HRIS and benefits databases.
- Effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs.
- Knowledge of benefits contract language.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
