Job Title: IT Administrator
Reports To: IT Director
Location: Georgia Plant

Travel: Up to 25% travel required to MI Metals’ manufacturing facilities (FL, GA, TN, AZ)

  

Position Summary

The IT Administrator supports all MI Metals locations by maintaining and improving the company’s IT systems, infrastructure, and cybersecurity. This position provides hands-on technical support both remotely and onsite, ensuring systems run efficiently, securely, and with minimal downtime. The role requires strong technical expertise, effective communication, and the ability to work independently across multiple sites.

  

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide IT support for all MI Metals locations, including both remote and onsite troubleshooting.
  • Manage and maintain company-wide servers, networks, and related infrastructure.
  • Monitor and ensure cybersecurity measures and compliance across all facilities.
  • Set up and manage user accounts, permissions, and email configurations.
  • Configure, install, and maintain hardware (PCs, printers, scanners, etc.) and software applications.
  • Support and maintain the EPICS ERP system, including access, performance, and troubleshooting.
  • Respond to and resolve IT service tickets in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain system backups and disaster recovery plans.
  • Coordinate operating system and software updates and patches.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and assist in implementing new hardware or software solutions.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventory, including employee-issued equipment.
  • Support technology aspects of employee onboarding and offboarding.
  • Provide user training and guidance on technology use and security best practices.
  • Assist production and office teams with connectivity and system issues.
  • Manage and support VoIP phone systems and related equipment.
  • Work with external vendors for specialized IT support and purchasing needs.
  • Participate in company-wide technology projects, system upgrades, and rollouts.
  • Document IT procedures, standards, and troubleshooting processes.
  • Travel up to 25% to other MI Metals locations for hands-on IT support.

  Work Environment

This position operates primarily in an office setting with regular exposure to manufacturing plant environments during site visits. Proper safety gear (PPE) is required when in production areas.

Requirements

  

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with EPICS ERP strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with VMware, Azure, and Scale environments preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
