About the team

Join our dynamic and expanding team, where you will collaborate closely with Kirsty Faichen and Anthony Longland, two highly regarded specialists in employment law and industrial relations. Our team is involved in a diverse range of projects, providing strategic advice to clients across various sectors, including energy and resources, manufacturing, infrastructure, and not-for-profit organisations. With a strong focus on high-quality technical work, you will engage with prominent clients on matters ranging from enterprise bargaining and workplace change to dispute resolution and compliance issues. We pride ourselves on fostering a supportive and collaborative environment that balances hard work with a positive team culture, ensuring we deliver effective solutions for our clients while enjoying the journey together.

You will have

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a solicitor, with a strong background in employment law and industrial relations.

  • Proven expertise in drafting legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and advisory notes.

  • Excellent analytical and research skills to navigate and apply changes in employment law and industrial relations.

  • Strong communication skills to provide timely, commercially-focused advice to clients and contribute to team discussions.

  • A commitment to client service and the ability to build and maintain robust client relationships.

  • A collaborative team spirit, fostering effective internal relationships to enhance teamwork and project outcomes.

Ideally you would also have experience in some of the following areas

  • Employment law issues including unfair dismissal, post-employment restrictions, and complex investigations.

  • Strategic workforce planning and structuring, particularly in relation to major projects and transactions.

  • Experience with Fair Work Commission disputes and industrial relations reforms.

  • Knowledge of the regulatory landscape affecting employment matters, particularly within the energy, resources, and infrastructure sectors.

  • Familiarity with both state and federal employment legislation and compliance requirements.

  • Experience in advising on enterprise bargaining processes and managing industrial action, including multi-site campaigns.
