THE OPPORTUNITY
Are you a commercially savvy finance professional ready to make a real impact? This is your chance to step into a high-profile role supporting the strategic and financial direction of one of Queensland’s key energy assets.
We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Site Accountant to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between site operations and financial reporting, ensuring accurate cost tracking, budget control and strategic financial insights to support decision making.
The role can be based in Brisbane Office (site travel required) or at Callide Power Station in Biloela.
Duties include the below, but are not limited to:
- Prepare with month-end and year-end financial reporting, including journal entries and GL reconciliations.
- Conduct cost reporting analysis and communicate with managers and supervisors with transparency of costs.
- Co-ordinate cost review meetings with department leads and supervisors
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in preparation of budget and forecast.
- Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders as needed.
- Take initiative in identifying and resolving discrepancies or inefficiencies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.
- Support on other ad-hoc finance and administrative tasks as required.

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:
- Degree in Business, Commerce, or Finance.
- CPA/CA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent post-grad qualification.
- 5+ years in commercial or professional services roles, ideally with Joint Venture accounting experience.
- Advanced Excel skills and SAP experience (preferred).
- A detail-oriented mindset with the ability to distil complex data into actionable insights.
