The purpose of this position is to care for and maintain headquarters facilities and support resiliency and events to create a place where the Spirit may reside and the work of salvation and exaltation can be accomplished. 


This job exists to provide parking support to our Salt Lake City Headquarters Facilities. They often will provide the first personal contact to employees and visitors who enter into the Church Office Building and the Conference Center. Because of this "first-contact" role, they perform an important customer service role, and they provide a low-level measure of security--as they help confirm that any vehicle entering the above mentioned buildings has the proper authorization to enter. They will also provide parking services support for major events, such as concerts and General Conference.

 

Be the first friendly face they see. Join our team as a Parking Services Assistant and help create a smooth, welcoming experience for everyone visiting Church Headquarters. In this role, you’ll manage parking equipment, validate passes, collect parking revenue, and assist with basic computer input and data entry. You’ll also support key departments like Church Security, Event Services, and the Salt Lake Temple.

Location: Church Headquarters, Downtown, Salt Lake City, UT

Available Shifts:  

  • Wednesday and Friday 4:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Morning Shift

**All shifts include a rotating Sunday shift as well as occasional events and holidays as scheduled

Wage:  $19.00/hr 

THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION

**Please Note: This position does not qualify for students required to work on the Ensign College Campus.**

Responsibilities

- Individually assist patrons entering and exiting at all Church Headquarters parking facilities.
- Serve on a team of parking attendants who ensure parking service exceeds guest expectations and remains consistent with the Parking Guidelines.
- Assist in mandatory event service by preparing lots with equipment and helping guests with parking at all major Church events.
- Maintain and clean parking equipment, signs, machines, etc.
- Assist patrons with finding directions, starting dead batteries, finding lost cars, etc.
- Assist Parking Services by troubleshooting, reporting maintenance and parking concerns, and helping with any parking assistance as needed from management.
- Assist Security by reporting suspicious individuals and vehicles, and by rendering service in emergency situations.

Qualifications

- High school diploma, or its equivalent.

- Superior customer service skills and experience.
- Outstanding public relations capability.
- Must complete the Parking Services New Hire Training and Certification Program within the first three months of employment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive company carts and vehicles.
- Ability to sit, walk, and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to speak and write in English for the purposes of training and communicating to other Church departments and staff.
- Ability to operate all assigned equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to visually distinguish permits of various shapes and colors.
- Complete the new hire training and certification as shown within the first three months of employment.
