GAME DESIGN (ESPORTS) INSTRUCTOR bei North Orange County ROP

This talent pool is for prospective Game Design & Integration (Esports) Instructor at the high school level. Under the direction of an Instructional Administrator, a Regional Occupational Program (ROP) instructor provides instruction to secondary school students in competency-based, career technical education courses in order to prepare them for college and career. ROP classes are taught by instructors who have trained and worked in the industry they are teaching. Once hired, instructors must enter a teacher credential program and ROP provides additional training and coaching support. Many ROP classes provide real-world experience by placing students in work-based learning. RELATIVE INFORMATION North Orange County ROP will review the applications submitted to select those candidates who appear to possess the most extensive and relevant experience or abilities for the position. Not every candidate who meets the minimum qualifications is interviewed. It is, therefore, important to ensure your application is thorough, detailed, and clear. Teaching demonstrations and interviews are normally conducted between two days and two weeks following the deadline to apply. REQUIRED ATTACHMENTS:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Art & Design, Game Programming or related field is desirable. * Applicant must possess and provide documentation of three (3) years experience as a game designer, game programmer/developer, multimedia artist, or part of a collaborative production team or the ability to show a panel a portfolio that demonstrates proficiency in game engines, digital media tools, and esports related content creation. * Network of Academic Scholastic Esports Federation (NASEF) Skillshot Esports Coaching Certification and/or NASEF Esports Health and Wellness Certification highly desirable. CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Arts, Media, & Entertainment (AME) – Game Design -OR- Information Communications Technology (ICT) - Games & Simulation. NOCROP will assist with credentialing if needed. OTHER EXPERIENCE: Experience working with youth in alternative education or similar settings preferred. LOCATIONS: Alternative Education Sites in Fountain Valley and Orange

Salary based on current Certificated Salary Schedule placement.
